Day 1-2
International flights from New Zealand to Paris.

Day 3 - Paris
Morning visit to the Louvre. Explore the Louvre using the audio guide. The Louvre offers a number of trails to give you an overview of the scope and richness of the museum’s collections.

 

This afternoon you have free time.

Day 4 - Paris
Morning visit to Montmatre. Enjoy a mini train ride through the streets of this neighbourhood where you will travel up and down the windy streets. Stop off at the Sacre Coeur and stretch your legs at the Moulin Rouge, on the way down.

Afternoon Seine River Cruise. Cruise up the Seine and discover the sights of Paris from a new perspective. See the bridges and monuments of Paris as you could never hope to from land.

Day 5 - Paris
Morning visit to the Musee D’Orsay for your guided tour. The education team at the museum provides a range of activities to explore the museum’s collections and exhibitions.

Afternoon visit to the Centre Pompidou. Explore using the audio guide. More than 60,000 works constitute the largest collection in Europe of modern and contemporary art. It covers 20th and 21st century artists whose artworks had major influence in recent years.

 

Day 6 - Paris
Excursion to Versailles for a guided tour of Versailles Palace. Versailles Palace is the largest Palace in Europe built by the King Louis XIV. Today Versailles is a unique place to witness what was the opulence and abundance of luxury in which the Kings of France used to live.

Day 7 - Paris
Excursion to Giverny for a guided tour of Monet’s home and gardens. Inspired by the beautiful, peaceful and colourful countryside of Giverny, Claude Monet settled there in 1883 for the rest of his life. Visit the wonderful flower gardens and the famous Japanese bridge.

Flight to Florence.

Day 8 - Florence
Morning visit to the Uffizi gallery for your guided tour. The Uffizi Gallery is one of the most famous museums in the world given the rich amount of unique artworks and masterpieces conserved within its walls, the majority from the Renaissance period.

Afternoon is free time.

Day 9 - Florence
Morning visit to the Academy of Fine Arts for your guided tour. A former hospital in the 14th century, then an Academy of Fine Arts, it houses “David”, the absolute masterpiece by Michelangelo, a must see for all visitors of Florence.

Transfer to Rome.

Day 10 - Rome
Morning visit to the Vatican Museum and Sistine Chapel for your guided tour. The tour takes the visitor through the most significant, cultural and religious areas of the Vatican Museums.

Afternoon guided walking tour of Rome. Highlights include entrance into the Colosseum, visit to Pantheon Church, Trevi Fountain, and Piazza Di Spagna (Spanish Steps).

Day 11 - Rome
Morning visit to the Borghese Gallery for your guided tour. One of Rome’s richest and most interesting villas, the Borghese Gallery houses a vast and diverse collection of sculptures and paintings produced by masters such as Bernini, Canova, Caravaggio and Titian.

Afternoon visit to the National Gallery of Modern Art. With its neoclassical and romantic paintings and sculpture, it makes a dramatic change from the glories of the Renaissance and ancient Rome.

Day 12
Return flights to New Zealand.

Option - extra day in Paris:
Full day visit to Disneyland Park and Walt Disney Studios.
