Full day guided sightseeing tour of Upper and Lower Manhattan. You will see Times Square, Madison Square Garden, the Empire State Building, Greenwich Village, Little Italy, Chinatown, Soho, the Statue of Liberty and Battery Park, Wall Street, South Street Seaport, the United Nations Building and the Rockefeller Center. You will stop for a brief visit to St John the Divine, one of the largest Gothic cathedrals in the world.

Day 3 - New York
Today will be spent visiting the Metropolitan Museum of Art. After a guided tour you can enjoy the exhibits and artwork at your own leisure. The Metropolitan Museum of Art is the largest art museum in the United States and among the most visited art museums in the world.

Optional evening excursion to see a hit Broadway show in the theatre district at Times Square.

Day 4 - New York
This morning will be spent visiting the Guggenheim Museum for a guided tour and includes time to explore the artwork at leisure. An internationally renowned art museum and one of the most significant architectural icons of the 20th century, the Guggenheim Museum is both a cultural centre, and an educational institution.

In the afternoon the group will enjoy a 2 hour guided walking tour of the trendy art galleries in the Chelsea Arts District. Factories and warehouses from its industrial past have been converted into art spaces, and in 2005, much of West Chelsea was rezoned to allow for the development of the High Line and to encourage the continued use of former industrial spaces as art galleries. Chelsea is home to hundreds of art galleries and artist studios and is considered an international hub for contemporary art.

Day 5 - New York
The morning will be spent at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) where the group will have a guided tour.

MoMA has been important in developing and collecting modernist art, and is often identified as the most influential museum of modern art in the world.

In the afternoon the group will visit the Whitney Museum building. The Whitney Museum of American Art is a New York City art museum with a focus on 20th and 21st century American art. It places a particular emphasis on exhibiting the work of living artists for its collection as well as maintaining an extensive permanent collection containing many important pieces from the first half of the last century.

Day 6 - New York
This morning the group will visit the Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum for a guided tour. The Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum is the only museum in America devoted exclusively to historic and contemporary design. The Cooper Hewitt educates, inspires, and empowers people through design by presenting exhibitions and educational programs and maintaining active publications.

This afternoon you will spend time at The American Museum of Natural History where you will take a self guided “Night at the Museum” tour. The American Museum of Natural History is the largest natural history museum in the world. During your self-guided tour, you will see these places and artefacts featured in one or both of the movies. This is a fun way to enjoy many highlights of the American Museum of Natural History and go at your own pace.

Day 7 - Washington DC
This morning you will be transferred to Washington, D.C., the nation’s capital, by coach. You will enjoy a sightseeing tour that will include Embassy Row, Georgetown, the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, the White House, Pennsylvannia Avenue, and Capitol Hill.

Day 8 - Washington DC
Today the group will visit the National Mall where the morning and afternoon will be spent visiting the National Gallery of Art and the Hirshhorn Museum.

The National Gallery of Art was established in 1937. Its collection of paintings, drawings, prints, photographs, sculpture, medals, and decorative arts traces the development of Western Art from the Middle Ages to the present, including the only painting by Leonardo da Vinci in the Americas and the largest mobile created by Alexander Calder.

The Hirshhorn museum was created as the United States’ museum of contemporary and modern art and currently focuses its collection-building and exhibition-planning mainly on the post–World War II period, with particular emphasis on art made during the last 50 years.

Day 9 - Washington DC
This morning is free time to further explore Washington. The group may want to head up to Capitol Hill to take a guided tour of the U.S. Capitol Building (to be setup in advance) and attend a Congressional hearing. Afterwards the group can take the short walk to the National Mall and spend the afternoon visiting the Smithsonian Museums. Of particular interest will be the National Air & Space Museum and the National Gallery of Art.
