Day 1 
Flight from New Zealand to San Francisco. This afternoon you will have free time.

Day 2 San Jose
Visit to the Tech Museum in San Jose. The Tech Museum of Innovation is a hands-on technology and science museum for people of all ages. It is focused on inspiring the innovator in everyone it reaches. Hands-on and interactive exhibits in themed galleries offer guests a memorable experience.

Next you will visit the Apple visitor centre before returning to San Francisco.

Day 3 San Jose
Morning visit to the Intel Museum. The Intel Museum showcases Intel’s history through unique, educational exhibits designed to let you explore Intel’s advanced technology and manufacturing first hand. The museum is 10,000 square feet of fun and interactive learning for children and adults.

Afternoon at the Computer History Museum. The Museum is dedicated to the preservation and celebration of computer history and is home to the largest international collection of computing artifacts in the world, encompassing computer hardware, software, documentation, ephemera, photographs, oral histories, and moving images.

On the way back to San Francisco the group will drive by Google’s Headquarters, before stopping briefly for a photo opportunity at the HP Garage, “the birthplace of Silicon Valley”.

Day 4 San Francisco
Sightseeing tour of San Francisco including Union Square, the financial district, the Civic Center, Alamo Square, Twin Peaks, Haight Asbury, Golden Gate Park, Ocean Beach, the Golden Gate Bridge, the Palace of Fine Arts and the Fishermans Wharf area.

Tonight the group will attend a baseball game at AT+T Park. (Optional).

Day 5 San Francisco
Morning visit to the Exploratorium. The Exploratorium isn’t just a museum; it’s an ongoing exploration of science, art and human perception—a vast collection of online experiences that feed your curiosity.

Afternoon is free time.

Day 6 Seattle
Flight to Seattle. Upon arrival the group will be taken to the Museum of Flight. The Museum of Flight showcases its collection of more than 150 historic air- and spacecraft and related artifacts in unique and inspiring exhibits.

Visit the Connections Museum for a docent lead tour. The museum features working Panel and Crossbar electromechanical central-office switches. The musuem also have working Step-by-Step and Crossbar PBX equipment as well as antique telephones, switchboards, outside plant displays (poles, cables, splicing equipment, and tools) and a reference library (Open Sundays only).

This evening you will head to the top of the Seattle Space Needle.

Day 7 Seattle
Travel to Everett for the Boeing factory tour. Explore the dynamics of flight and experience new aviation innovations. Design your own airplane and have a picture taken with the Boeing factory in the background in the Gallery.

On your return to Seattle stop for a tour of the Microsoft Visitor Centre.

Day 8 Seattle
Visit the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation Discovery Center. The Discovery Center will take you on an interactive journey that brings to life the connections we share with others across the globe, and will allow you to discover innovations and inventions that are helping to create a world where every person has the opportunity to live a healthy and productive life.

In the afternoon visit Living Computers. Living Computers honors the history of computing with the world’s largest collection of fully restored—and usable—supercomputers, mainframes, minicomputers and microcomputers. Included is a 90-minute project-based programming activity in the Labs. Additional labs are also available and can be used to extend your trip by a day.

Day 9 Seattle
Roam the subterranean passages that once were the main roadways and first-floor storefronts of old downtown Seattle on the Bill Spiedle Underground tour.

Visit the Museum of Pop Culture (MoPOP) and then Ride the Ducks for an entertaining water tour of Seattle.

Evening return flights to New Zealand.

Depending on dates, an option for groups travelling in April may be to attend and/or participate in the RoboGames.
