Day 1
Flights to Buenos Aires. Transfer to homestays.

Day 2
Attend language school for morning group lessons.

Day 3
Attend language school for morning group lessons. Afternoon excursion to visit Casa Rosada. This building houses the Executive Power and was built in 1580. After many renovations the facade was reconstructed. During the presidency of Domingo Faustino Sarmiento, the building was painted pink, combining the colors of the two political sectors at the time - red for the federals and white for the unitaries. The Granaderos guard the building.

Day 4
Attend language school for morning group lessons. Afternoon excursion to visit Cabildo. This was the first government building in the city of Buenos Aires at the time it was founded. It has had many changes and renovations from its original construction. It is now a museum where a collection of old weapons are displayed, as well as medals and garments from the time of independence (1816).

Day 5
Attend language school for morning group lessons. Afternoon excursion to visit the Cathedral. This neoclassical cathedral was built in the 18th century and is the resting place of Liberator General José de San Martín’s ashes. San Martín was one of the most important heroes in the history of Argentina. He led the battles against Spanish armies that resulted in the country’s independence.

Day 6
Attend language school for morning group lessons. Afternoon excursion to visit Plaza de Mayo, Pirámide de Mayo and Avenida de Mayo. The Plaza de Mayo is the country’s political center and has witnessed political and social demonstrations as well as national celebrations.

Pirámide de Mayo was the first monument in Buenos Aires commemorating the revolution of 1810. It was covered with bricks increasing its size and adding a statue representing the “Republic” on the top. The original pyramid is in perfect condition and is located inside this one.
Avenida de Mayo has been and still is the stage of social marches and political rallies since it was designed at the end of the 19th century.

Day 7
Full day Fiesta Gaucho Tour. This morning you will be taken to a typical ranch where you will enjoy a tour of the magnificent landscape of the Argentinean Pampas and experience the real gaucho lifestyle. Be amazed by the true tradition of the cowboys and their typical gaucho skills. Enjoy a folkloric performance of the gaucho dances, Tango, and other rhythms. Your barbecue lunch includes the best Argentine beef, salads, and drinks.

Day 8
Full-day excursion to Tigre Delta. You will enjoy a beautiful drive to the Olivos district. From here you will see luxurious homes and mansions overlooking the river. You will stop in San Isidro, one of the few remaining sites where old-style romanticism is still alive. Later, you will arrive at the Tigre district, where a great number of summer residences, yacht clubs, and rowing clubs attract the weekend activity of many “portenos”. You will enjoy a sail along the many channels before returning to Buenos Aires.

Day 9
Attend language school for morning group lessons. Afternoon excursion to visit the home of the Boca juniors. A behind-the-scenes tour of the stadium is a fascinating look at the sport that most Argentines live and die by and is home to the Buenos Aires soccer team that was founded in 1905.

Day 10
Attend language school for morning group lessons. Afternoon excursion to visit Plaza De Los Dos Congresos and Palacio del Congreso. The Plaza De Los Dos Congresos is comprised of a series of small squares, each one with a unique monument. The Palacio del Congreso houses the Argentine Congress. Its exterior is Greek-Roman, with a coating of white marble, Corinthian columns, and decorated edges.

Day 11
Attend language school for morning group lessons. Afternoon excursion to visit Recoleta, the cemetery, and Cultural Centre. Recoleta Cemetery was founded in 1822 and is famous for having sculptures, tombs, and mausoleums of political figures and Argentine families. The Cultural Centre was built in 1732 and was a convent connected to the Basílica del Pilar. Today, it is a cultural centre that accommodates paintings, sculptures, and photographs in different exhibitions.

Day 12
Attend language school for morning group lessons. Afternoon excursion to visit Colón Theater. This theater was inaugurated on May 25, 1908 and is the most important lyrical theatre in Latin America.

Day 13
Attend language school for morning group lessons. Free time in the afternoon.

Day 14
Transfer to airport for return flight to New Zealand.
